Princess Anne's bready hairstyle
Mar 23, 2010, 13:19 GMT
Britain's Princess Anne has been blasted as "f**king bats**t".
British-born designer Denise L'Estrange-Corbet has attacked the princess' fashion sense with in a foul-mouthed outburst after they met at a party in New Zealand to launch a campaign for Save the Children.
Denise said: "She was as boring as f***ing bats**t is what she was. The world's hairdressers at your beck and call and your hair looks like a cottage loaf."
The 59-year-old princess - who wore a patterned dress and tangerine jacket with her hair scraped back into a tight bun to meet the designer - couldn't even win her over with charm as Denise later described Anne's personality as "minus", before referring to the royal's late sister-in-law Princess Diana, adding: "No wonder Diana left them all for dead".
Royal biographer Penny Junior -claimed the comments had infuriated those who knew Anne well.
She told the Daily Express newspaper: "I think that is deeply unfair. She has never set herself up as a fashion model. She's gone to do business, represent Britain and to work for her charities."
Anne's mother, Queen Elizabeth, has however recently been praised by industry experts for her fashion sense.
The 83-year-old monarch - who held a reception for the British Clothing Industry at her Buckingham Palace residence earlier this month - was given several tributes for her sense of style by a number of high-profile models, designers and fashion icons in attendance.
British model Twiggy said: "She is a fashion icon. Over the years she has worn some beautiful clothes."
