Britain's late Princess Diana's favourite necklace and earrings are up for sale for around £500,000.
The princess - who died in a car accident along with lover Dodi Fayed in 1997 - asked for the necklace to be made with five of her favourite South Sea pearls, so she could wear it for the Swan Lake ballet show which she'd been invited to by Harrods owner Mohamed Fayed, where she first met his son Dodi.
The jewellery is now being put up for sale by Texan furniture millionaire Jim McIngvale who has kept the jewellery in a display cabinet at his furniture store in Houston, Texas, for the past eleven years.
Diana did not actually wear the earrings designed to go with the necklace on the evening she met Dodi because the then Crown Jeweller, Garrard, had not finished making them in time for the event.
She returned the necklace after the event for the accompanying pearl-and-diamond earrings to be completed, but died without ever seeing the finished items.
Jim told the Daily Mail newspaper: "I always have an exhibition of various sorts at my store - I bought Elvis Presley's favourite car, a 1956 Lincoln Continental, at another auction - and I like to keep the exhibits for a few years, then sell them and get new ones."
