Sarah Ferguson devastated
Feb 9, 2010, 12:56 GMT
Britain's Sarah Ferguson was "devastated" to hear of the death of her former lover's nephew yesterday (08.02.10).
The Duchess of York - who was on her way to New York to attend a fundraising event for the Haiti earthquakes - immediately offered her condolences to the family of her former lover, Count Gaddo della Gherardesca, upon hearing the news his nephew died yesterday (08.02.10) after being shot in the back while hunting.
Giuseppe Orlando, 42, was accidentally shot by one of twenty fellow friends while at a boar-hunting party on the family's estate at Castagneto Carducci near Livorno, Tuscany.
According to police, Giuseppe died when he was shot by another hunter, who mistook him for an animal. The bullet impacted on his back and came out through his chest.
The duchess - who often stayed at the estate during the four years she dated the Count - was said to be both "horrified and devastated"
Last night Sarah told the Daily Mail newspaper: "We have had endless happy times with the whole family. I am devastated for them."
