Princess Diana's old school porn charges
Jan 19, 2010, 12:03 GMT
The deputy head teacher at Britain's Princess Diana's old school has been charged with possessing child pornography.
William Whillock, 56, also faces claims of having a relationship with a teenage girl after being arrested in front of staff and pupils at The New School, in Kent, England.
Whillock - who has been suspended from his job - is charged with four counts of possessing indecent images and the abuse of a position of trust with a girl, aged 13 to 17.
He had been in charge of child protection at the school, which caters for "damaged" pupils who have been "emotionally scarred by abuse, bereavement, bullying or other trauma" and cannot get along in mainstream education, according to its website.
Whillock appeared before magistrates and has now been released on bail.
Diana - who was killed in a Paris car crash in August 1997 - attended the school between 1972 and 1977 when it was a private girls' school known as West Heath, which closed in 1997.
However, in 1998, it was reopened with the help of a donation from Harrods boss Mohamed Al Fayed - whose son Dodi Fayed also died in the accident - as a memorial to her and Dodi.
