Britain's Queen Elizabeth's former yacht is to be displayed in Scotland.
The monarch - whose former yacht the Bloodhound, which has won scores of races in the south of England and crossed the Atlantic to compete in Bermuda - is now being moved to go on show in Edinburgh beside the Royal Yacht Britannia.
The racing boat, which is more than 70 years old, had a major refit in recent years because it had fallen into disrepair.
The Royal Yacht Britannia Trust - who bought Bloodhound when it went on sale today (08.01.10) - will unveil it to the public in April.
Bloodhound, which is said to be one of the most successful ocean-going racing yachts, was bought by the royal family in 1962.
Charles, the Prince of Wales learned to sail on her before she was sold on in 1969 and refurbished by classic yacht restorer Tony McGrail in 2003.
Chairman of The Royal Yacht Britannia Trust, Rear Admiral Neil Rankin, told the Daily Telegraph newspaper he was delighted to have acquired such an important piece of British yachting history.
He said: "We look forward to having Bloodhound alongside Britannia once more, for the public to see what a wonderful ocean-racing yacht she is and why she was so fondly regarded by all associated with her illustrious past.''
