Sarah Ferguson's romantic Christmas

Britain's Sarah Ferguson will spend Christmas in Norway with her new boyfriend.

The Duchess of York has decided to jet abroad and spend the festive period with millionaire Geir Frantzen - who she is believed to be dating - while her daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie spend Christmas in England with their father Prince Andrew and the rest of the British royal family.

Sarah has flown overseas to visit the 42 year old at his luxurious home in the remote Vesteralen island region several times during the past 18 months, although she has always maintained they are just friends.

However, pals of Sarah say she has fallen for the businessman.

A source said: "Sarah is besotted. It is rather a bizarre set-up."

Despite splitting from Andrew 13 years ago, they still share a house, the Royal Lodge - the Queen Mother's former home - in Windsor Great Park.

It was assumed the 50-year-old author would have stayed there for the Christmas while Andrew took the princesses to spend the season with Queen Elizabeth and the rest of the royal family.

Sarah will spend a week in Norway before returning to Britain to pick up her daughters who are heading over to South Africa for New Year's Eve (31.12.09), where they will celebrate with Sir Richard Branson and his family.
