Britain's Prince William and Harry have secretly set up a charity for poor children.
The brothers - who have donated a six-figure sum to create the foundation which will fund causes for underprivileged children and wounded servicemen - are believed to have used money left to them from their late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales.
The charity - which doesn't yet have a name and won't be ready to make grants for several years - will be run from their offices at St James's Palace, London, and will focus on young people, sustainable development at home and overseas, as well as the welfare of wounded servicemen.
Clarence House confirmed that the charity was up and running and that they hoped the young royals were able to use their high profiles to raise money for the cause.
A spokesman said: "The Princes have always recognised that they can bring profile to good initiatives, to help get great charitable endeavours off the ground and to encourage others to support these."
The young royals have insisted it will be a life-long commitment which will see them making top-up payments over the years.
Both William, 27, and Harry, 25, already earn modest salaries as serving military officers and they each inherited around £9 million from their mother's estate which is being held in trust funds until their 30th birthdays.
