Security surrounding Holland's Queen Beatrix has come into question after two journalists broke into the royal palace.
The two Dutch reporters exposed the security flaws when they broke into the grounds of the royal home last month, the counter terriorism unit has revealed.
A TV show on Sunday (15.11.09) showed journalist Alberto Stegeman and a colleague pose as builders as they managed to gain access to Noordeinde Palace in The Hague and even managed to smuggle in a fake bomb, which security staff failed to find.
They then walked around the palace grounds and into the horse stables without being questioned or approached by guards.
Opposition parties Liberal VVD, left-liberal D'66 and the Socialist and Green parties said they were 'shocked' and have asked for an explanation from Interior Minister Guusje ter Horst and Defence Minister Eimert van Middelkoop.
The security breach comes just four months after a man was arrested on suspicion of planning to kill Queen Beatrix - leaving the monarch and her family terrified.
Animal rights activist Peter Janssen, 24, was taken into police custody in July - and later released - after police received a tip-off he was plotting to attack the 71-year-old monarch because she wears fur.
His house was raided and officers seized two computers but failed to find the gun he had reportedly purchased to carry out the attack.
Janssen denied all allegations and Wim de Bruin, a spokesman for the Public Prosecution Office, said they did not have sufficient evidence to keep Janssen in custody.
