Britain's Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, start their 11-day tour of Canada today (02.11.09).
The royal couple are set to fly into the remote coastal town of St John's in Newfoundland where they plan to discover the region's culture.
In a statement, Charles said he was looking forward to meeting as "many Canadians as possible as we travel from coast to coast".
The pair's busy schedule includes visiting 12 cities.
The prince last visited the country in 2005 and it will be his 15th trip to the North American nation.
But despite the anticipated warm welcome at St John's, a recent poll showed Prince Charles isn't popular in Canada.
It showed the heir to the British throne had an image problem in the country, with one expert saying the "devastating" survey could herald the end of the monarchy.
The poll of 1,405 people showed that, while around 80 per cent of people thought the monarchy had an important place in Canadian history, more than 60 per cent felt that a constitutional monarchy was outdated.
More than 47 per cent of those polled by Toronto firm Navigator disagreed that Prince Charles has a vision for the future.
