Prince Monaco's sex scandal
Oct 26, 2009, 12:09 GMT
A video of Prince Albert of Monaco allegedly having a sex act performed on him is at the centre of a new lawsuit.
Robert Eringer - a former security advisor to the principality's royal family - accuses his ex-employers of cheating him out of £331,000 and has now launched legal action in his native US.
He claims to have an incriminating video which shows Albert in a very compromising position.
He is said to have told associates in Monaco about the alleged tape - which was shot at the prince's 40th birthday party 11 years ago - bragging: "This is what I have on your prince."
Eringer alleges he was hired by Prince Albert in 2002 and before the death of the prince's father, Prince Rainier, in 2005.
He says Albert asked him to conduct inquiries to discover people's true opinions about the royal family.
He also claimed investigations allegedly requested by the prince also targeted Monaco officials and foreigners suspected of taking part in criminal activities.
Lawyers Stanley Arkin and Thierry Lacoste, who are representing Prince Albert, deny Eringer's allegations, calling the lawsuit an attempt to extort the Monaco royal.
