Britain's Princess Beatrice's ex-boyfriend has been granted bail by an Australian Court.
American Paolo Liuzzo appeared in Southport Magistrates Court on Monday (28.09.09) to answer charges of disqualified driving, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, two counts of fraud and possessing about two grams of cocaine.
He was granted bail earlier today (30.09.09) after being remanded in custody for two nights on the conditions he surrender his passport and stay with his girlfriend in Sydney until proceedings are finalised.
He did not enter a plea to any of the charges, but the charge of driving while disqualified was dropped due to a lack of evidence.
Paolo was arrested on the Gold Coast on Sunday (27.09.09) for crashing a hire car and failing to pay for accommodation and restaurant bills at Conrad Jupiter's casino.
Lawyer Mark Bamberry said Liuzzo's mother had agreed to pay restitution to the car hire company and casino.
The court was not told the total amount due to be paid. The case was adjourned until October 29.
Beatrice dated the American from July 2005 to May 2006.
