The Sultan of Brunei has reportedly reconciled with his estranged brother.
Hassanal Bolkiah has not spoken to Prince Jefri Bolkiah since 2004, when Jefri was accused of stealing $15 billion during his term as finance minister.
In the past week, Jefri has made several highly-publicised visits to Brunei - even attending a mosque with other senior members of the royal family - sparking speculation the rift is being resolved.
Jefri's lawyer David Sandy confirmed to Agence France-Presse: "There's a much more constructive relationship between the parties.
"The discussions are continuing, I don't want to disrupt those by making any assumptions on the process other than that."
Last year, Jefri insisted he would never make up with his older brother.
He said: "Sadly, I have concluded that a reconciliation with the other side is not possible and that the unequal struggle will continue, placing great pressures upon me and my family."
He also denied embezzling state funds, claiming the money in question was "invested wisely" in hospitals and other public buildings.
The prince added: "I am no angel, for sure, but I have been the fall guy."
