Britain's Princess Beatrice's ex-boyfriend has been arrested and charged with a string of offences in Australia.
Paulo Liuzzo, 27, was picked up by police on the country's Gold Coast after crashing a £40,000 hire car into traffic lights while reportedly fleeing Jupiters Casino - where he had been staying - without paying his bill.
Following the crash, he was charged with disqualified driving, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, two counts of fraud and possessing two grammes of cocaine and is now being held in police custody.
He is expected to face further traffic offences in Sydney.
The American - who dated Beatrice for just under a year until May 2006 - is currently holidaying in Australia and is believed to have told pals he hopes to obtain permanent residency.
Liuzzo is no stranger to controversy.
In 2002, he was charged with manslaughter of a fellow student, with the charge later reduced to assault
It later emerged that he had breached the conditions of his probation to holiday in Switzerland with Beatrice and her family, including Prince Andrew and the Duchess of York.
As a result, American courts extended his probation, with the scandal causing the end of his relationship with the princess.
In 2007 he claimed marijuana had been smoked in the presence of Beatrice, her mother, and sister Princess Eugenie during a group holiday to Jamaica in 2005.
