A Saudi Arabian royal has called for his brother's assets to be frozen.
Prince Khaled bin Talal has accused Prince Walid bin Talal of "disseminating vice and violating the rules of Islamic Sharia law" through his media empire.
Prince Walid - known for his liberal lifestyle - is one of the world's richest men. He owns a range of media outlets, including a number of entertainment channels that have long-angered conservative citizens.
Insiders have spoken about a rift between Walid and his brother for years, but this is the first time it has publicly erupted.
Prince Khaled said he was forced to speak out after private attempts to encourage his brother to change his behaviour failed.
Khaled told an Arabic website his brother's plan to introduce modern cinemas into the country was "the straw that broke the camel's back".
Saudi Arabian society condemns nearly all forms of modern entertainment, branding them "morally corrosive".
