Britain's Sarah Ferguson says her children make her feel like less of a failure.
The Duchess of York - who is divorced from Prince Andrew - says Princess Beatrice, 20, and Princess Eugenie, 18, are the "one thing" she has "done really well".
Speaking on The Graham Norton Show last night (05.03.09), Sarah said: "Beatrice and Eugenie, they really are the blood in my veins and they just have really helped me.
"Looking at them, I keep thinking to myself well, actually, you've done one thing really well. You're a good mum and I think that's great, to be a good mum."
The former royal also spoke about the nasty newspaper headlines that shattered her confidence in the 80s.
She said: "I really love being British and a British citizen, and I love Britain. I love everything about it and I felt I'd let everyone down.
"Every front page said 'Duchess of Pork' and '82 per cent would rather sleep with a goat than Fergie'. That is not good.
"It's so difficult when you think that everybody reads the newspapers and believes it. Then you walk in and you put your head down and you lack confidence."
Sarah appeared on the television show to promote 'The Young Victoria', a film about Britain's Queen Victoria and Prince Albert which she has co-produced.
