Britain's Zara Phillips was left "close to tears" after her handbag was stolen.
Thieves broke into a Range Rover belonging to the 27-year-old royal - the granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth - in West London last Thursday (26.02.09), and fled with the bag containing jewellery, money and Zara's passport.
Riding equipment belonging to Zara - who is the current World Eventing Champion - was flung across the road.
A source told Britain's The Scotsman newspaper: "Zara was shaken and was frantically searching for her handbag. Police told her later that it was an opportunistic crime - but there is always a moment of fear that she has been targeted."
She was shopping in the vicinity when the incident occurred.
Zara's passport was later recovered after the bag was found abandoned in a nearby hedge, but the jewellery is still missing.
In January, Zara's 20-year-old cousin Princess Beatrice had her BMW stolen after the royal and her police protection officer went into a shop leaving the keys in the car.
The £15,000 vehicle was later recovered in South London with two smashed windows.
