Jordan's Queen Rania has appealed for urgent aid for a UN agency.
The queen warned that a lack of funds may result in the United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) having to stop operations, saying it was in "dire need" of assistance.
She told a meeting of UNRWA in Amman: "We are in very dire need of much more assistance and without which I think UNRWA won't be able to operate.
"The international community owes greats debts to UNRWA. It was quite alarming to know that the financial situation was in jeopardy.
"I urge all of you to urge your governments to make this a very urgent plea. The people of Palestine deserve it and I think our humanity demands it."
UNRWA Commissioner General Karen Abu Zayed added: "We have collected 120 million dollars, and we need a little more than 200 million to balance."
Rania - who is married to King Abdullah - is of Palestinian origin. The majority of Jordan's six million residents also hail from the region.
UNRWA, which cares for 4.3 million refugees in Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, has unveiled a 345-million dollar "quick recovery plan" for the war torn area.
The money is needed to provide food, water, shelter, health care and other assistance after the conflict with Israel last year.
