An audio clip of Britain's Prince Charles reading poetry has been downloaded more than 20,000 times.
The prince recited his favourite Robert Burns poems, 'My Love is Like a Red, Red Rose' and 'My Heart's In The Highlands' for a BBC Scotland audio project and the network has been astonished by the popularity of his contribution.
To mark the 250th anniversary of the poet's birth, stars including Alan Cuming, Robert Carlyle and Robbie Coltrane, the prince and Scotland's First Minister Alex Salmond were asked to record poems for an online archive.
So far, their clips have been downloaded more than 500,000 times.
According to statistics, 'My Love Is Like a Red, Red Rose' was the most popular of the prince's readings, recording 23, 444 hits.
Jeff Zycinski, Head of Radio Scotland, said: "There's no doubt in my mind that the involvement of Prince Charles in this project gave it a real boost and his recitals attracted interest from Canada, Australia and all around the world.
"We were especially pleased with the care His Royal Highness took during the recording session. He was very keen to give us a real, heartfelt performance and not just a simple reading.
"He's obviously a busy man but he didn't try to rush the production team. On the contrary he was the one who kept stressing how important it was to get it right, not just the pronunciations but the tone and the rhythm."
The Prince recited the works during a visit to Dumfries House, the Ayrshire stately home built in the year Burns was born.
