Princess Eugenie's pass
Feb 2, 2009, 11:03 GMT
Britain's Princess Eugenie has passed her driving test.
The 18-year-old granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth enlisted an instructor from the Metropolitan Police to ensure her success.
A friend of the princess said: "Eugenie did her test around the Windsor and Slough area and was over the moon when she was told she had passed."
The Duke of York's youngest daughter made a concerted effort to pass her practical test after failing her theory the first time round - a result the princess blames on one too many late nights.
The friend added: "She was embarrassed and cross with herself because it's pretty easy to pass a theory test. The truth is that she had been out on the town a lot and didn't do any work for it, hoping that it would be simple."
Eugenie can now be seen driving an £8,000 Nissan convertible - the same model owned by the likes of political journalist Andrew Marry, Vanessa Feltz and Eric Clapton.
Her sister Beatrice, 20, had car trouble earlier this year, when her £15,000 BMW was stolen after she left the keys in the ignition while she was in a London shop.
