What is all the fuss about? I am sixty eight years old, and as far back as I can recall, children have adored their Gollies.I have a collection, which I treasure.
On my return to the UK after living in Nigeria for seven years, I couldn'd believe that a much loved English tradition had been slung on the racial heap.
As children do, every toy was thrown out of the pram. So last year I gifted a Golly to my sister in law (her Mother had made it for my youngest child almost forty years ago) Of course she was in tears, but I knew that it should go to that branch of the family.
So please, relax, they are National Treasures.
