Brunei's Prince Jefri Bolkiah faces arrest.
A warrant for the prince's arrest was issued after he failed to turn up at London's High Court on Wednesday (11.06.08) in relation to a feud he is having with his brother, the Sultan of Brunei, over billions of pounds which went missing while he worked as the country's finance minister.
The 53-year-old royal was due in court over claims he violated a court order to hand over £3 billion to the country's government, however his lawyer told Judge Peter Smith he had decided not to attend the five-day hearing.
After ruling the prince was in contempt of court for not attending the court case, Judge Smith then issued an arrest warrant which is valid in all countries in the European Union.
Upon issuing the warrant, Smith said: "If he is arrested, it will take an advocate of great skill to persuade me that he should have bail."
Prince Jefri, who is nicknamed the Playboy Prince, is accused of spending billions of pounds of government money to put towards funding his lavish and exclusive lifestyle.
He denies doing anything wrong, but the Brunei Investment Agency insist he has yet to return the cash and assets which were requested.
