Sarah Ferguson's NHS help
May 28, 2008, 11:00 GMT
Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, wants to advise Britain's National Health Service on obesity issues.
Sarah - currently a WeightWatchers spokesperson in America - is keen to get involved in tackling the anti-obesity campaign health secretary Alan Johnson is currently promoting, following the success of her TV documentary 'The Duchess in Hull'.
A source told Britain's Daily Mail newspaper: "Sarah has been in talks with the NHS. She is keen to become involved in its obesity initiatives.
"She was aware of Mr Johnson's launch of a cross-government strategy on obesity earlier this year.
"She feels she has a contribution to make."
'The Duchess in Hull' focused on Sarah's efforts to help an overweight family living on a run-down estate improve their lifestyles and eating habits.
It was announced yesterday (27.05.08), Sarah - who has battled her own weight problems in the past - hopes to launch her own range of healthy ready meals with one of Britain's leading supermarkets.
A spokesperson for Asda confirmed: "She has made the initial approach to us with the idea for a range of healthy eating products - ready meals were mentioned - but it's in the very early stages at the moment."
