Britain's Prince Harry has reportedly proposed to girlfriend Chelsy Davy.
The 22-year-old prince is said to have popped the question to Zimbabwe-born Chelsy during their recent safari holiday in Botswana and she excitedly accepted.
However, the smitten couple - who have been dating for three years - will not officially announce their engagement for another 18 months.
A source told Britain's Sunday Mirror newspaper: "Harry and Chelsy are serious about each other and are both keen to make more of a commitment. Neither of them can imagine living without the other."
The couple plan to delay going public with their happy news until Chelsy finishes her studies at Leeds University and officer Harry has seen active Army service overseas.
Harry is also keen to keep Chelsy out of the limelight for as long as possible as he believes public interest puts added pressure on their relationship.
The source added: "Harry has come to realise that what he and Chelsy have is pretty special. It's natural that they would want to settle down.
"But for now he does not want her to be a public figure and they both want time for their relationship to develop as normally as possible."
Meanwhile, Chelsy has been discharged from South African hospital after she had an emergency appendix operation.
The 21-year-old was rushed to a Cape Town facility late last week after suffering form severe abdominal pains.
