Paul Burrell, the former butler of Britain's late Princess Diana, has had an annual volunteer award named after him in the US.
The Paul Burrell Volunteer of the Year Award is presented to the individual whose efforts have "significantly improve" the Special Olympics programme in Florida. The winner also picks up a cheque for $1,000.
Burrell's website explains: "It was Princess Diana's own life of volunteerism and service to others that inspired Paul to wish to support this particular award. And on this, the 10th anniversary of Diana's death, we are reminded, once again of the extraordinary impact that simple acts of caring for the greater good, can have."
Burrell - who the princess once famously described as "my rock" - was unable to present the award to its inaugural winner last month as he was too busy taking filming for US TV show 'American Princess'.
The show sees 12 women compete to claim a British title, a dance with a real European prince and $50,000 cash.
The 49-year-old has made a career out of talking about his former royal connections. In 2003, his book 'A Royal Duty', detailing his time working for Diana, became a best-seller and last year he released the poorly-received follow-up 'The Way We Were'.
He has recently been promoting his wine collection, Royal Butler, in the US, telling the American public: "I wouldn't give my princess just anything and I won't give American ladies just anything either."
