Sarah Ferguson pulls royal strings
Jul 13, 2007, 12:20 GMT
Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, is using her influence to secure a film about Britain's Queen Victoria the right to shoot in royal palaces.
Sarah, one of the producers on 'Young Victoria', has used her contacts to organise meetings between the film's executives and officials responsible for the London residences Kensington Palace and Windsor Castle.
According to Britain's Daily Mail newspaper, filming is due to start next month and director Jean-Marc Vallee is hoping to use the royal palaces to shoot key scenes.
Permission has already been granted for the movie to shoot at Oxfordshire country mansion Blenheim Palace, Leicestershire stately home Belvoir castle and Arundel Castle in West Sussex.
London's Westminster Abbey is also being lined up as a possible filming location.
The film has been written by Oscar-winning writer Julian Fellowes, and stars Emily Blunt as the 19th century monarch and Rupert Friend as the queen's beloved husband Prince Albert.
The film is scheduled for release in 2009.
