Kate waxwork scrapped
Apr 18, 2007, 12:20 GMT
A Madame Tussards waxwork of Kate Middleton has been abandoned following her split from Britain's Prince William.
The London museum were reportedly in the early stages of planning the model on the back of popular demand.
The figure of the 25-year-old brunette was due to be placed next to her royal boyfriend and unveiled in 2008 - the year many royal fans expected the couple to marry.
However, all plans have now been scrapped following the announcement that the couple have decided to part ways at the weekend.
A spokesman told Britain's Daily Express newspaper: "We were in the early stages of planning Kate's figure off the bank of thousands of visitor requests.
"We had had literally stacks of inquiring e-mails and letters about Kate. Tussauds is disappointed to hear of the break-up."
While Kate may never take a prominent position in the museum, William remains a firm favourite with visitors.
The 24-year-old prince stands next to his younger brother Prince Harry and his father Prince Charles.
