Kate Middleton's Apprentice boss
Mar 21, 2007, 13:40 GMT
Britain's Kate Middleton's former boss is set to star in the new series of hit UK TV show 'The Apprentice'.
Rory Laing, a 27-year-old bankrupt entrepreneur, used to run upmarket catering firm Snatch Bar and he hired Prince William's girlfriend during the summer of 2002.
The company employed public school-educated bar staff for exclusive events including the Henley Regatta and Cowes Week.
Kate, who was studying with William at Scotland's St Andrew's University at the time, was described as the perfect barmaid by Laing.
He said: "I pay her a small wage, but she is pretty so she takes plenty in tips. She was hand-picked to work at the Snatch Bar. She is stunning and a terrific girl. We wanted her to work more because she was incredible. Everyone was gobsmacked."
Laing was handpicked by British millionaire businessman Sir Alan Sugar after more than 10,000 people applied to appear on the hit BBC TV show.
He will now battle it out against 15 other contestants to win a job with Sugar's company.
'The Apprentice' returns to UK screens on March 28.
