No foxtrot for Fergie
Jan 24, 2007, 13:20 GMT
Britain's Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, will not be appearing on US TV series 'Dancing With The Stars'.
Sarah was offered a chance to feature on the show - which pairs professional dancers with celebrity amateurs - last year.
However, Sarah's representatives say that, although she is a huge fan of the series, the duchess never had any serious intention of signing up for it.
Her spokesman told Britain's Daily Express newspaper: "It didn't even get as far as the shortlist stage. Although she's really love to do it, she's just too busy."
The duchess was reportedly invited to take part in the programme, after she expressed an interest in competing.
She said: "I'd quite like to go on 'Dancing With Stars'. I'd like them to teach me the tango."
Bosses of 'Dancing With The Stars' welcomed the prospect of having royalty on the series.
Producer Conrad Green said: "Fergie will add a touch of class to the proceedings and the fans will be waiting to see if she falls for her dance partner. Everyone loves a royal romance and her presence will bring dazzling ratings. We like having a mixture and we've not had a duchess."
