Princesses mourn friend
Jan 10, 2007, 13:40 GMT
Britain's Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, and her two daughters attended an emotional memorial service for their close family friend yesterday (09.01.07).
Sarah's youngest daughter Princess Eugenie, 16, wept during the ceremony for James Wentworth-Stanley, 21, at St Paul's Church, in Knightsbridge, west London.
James - a student at Newcastle University - was found shot dead at his father's estate last month.
The duchess went to school with James' mother Clare Milford Haven and Beatrice, 18, and Eugenie went on countless family holidays with the young polo player.
A family friend told Britain's Daily Express newspaper: "Fergie is close to Clare and the kids all virtually grew up together.
"She and the two princesses all looked really upset. Eugenie was in tears."
Other royal family members who attended the service included Viscount Linley - Princess Margaret's son - and Lady Helen Taylor - the daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Kent.
Sarah's lifelong friend Clare is now married to Queen Elizabeth's cousin the Marquess of Milford Haven.
Queen drummer Roger Taylor was also among the hundreds of mourners who came to pay his respects, and he performed a song with singer Kiki Dee called No One But You.
