Fergie was jealous of Di
Jan 8, 2007, 13:20 GMT
Britain's Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, has confessed she was jealous of the late Princess Diana, because of her slim figure.
Sarah - ex-wife of Prince Andrew - revealed pressure to look as trim as the Princess of Wales caused her to develop an obsession with her weight.
The 47-year-old admitted to Scotland's Sunday Mail newspaper: "I was deeply envious of Di because she was naturally tall and thin and I'm not.
"I became a compulsive eater and tried every diet there was to try and compete with her.
"But that only led me to obsession and depression."
Diana also had her own weight issues and she suffered from the eating disorder bulimia - which she admitted to in a frank interview with BBC's Panaroma programme.
The duchess has now got her weight under control and is a spokesman for slimming organisation Weight Watchers.
Sarah - mother to Princesses Eugenie, 16, and Beatrice, 18 - also revealed she is looking for a new man in her life.
She said: "I don't have anyone in my life at the moment and I'd love to have a boyfriend. I'm hoping someone will come along soon."
