Britain's Princess Anne works the hardest of all the royal family, it has been revealed.
A survey published by Britain's The Times newspaper yesterday (03.01.07) showed that the Princess Royal, carried out the most official royal duties in 2006.
Anne attended 491 royal engagements in Britain and 104 abroad - a total of 595.
Her brother and heir to the throne, Prince Charles, came second with a total of 500 engagements attended last year - 427 in Britain and 73 overseas.
Queen Elizabeth, 80, carried out 380 engagements in her home country and 45 overseas this year.
The queen's 85-year-old husband, Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, attended a total of 406 royal engagements, 353 in Britain and 53 abroad.
Tim O'Donovan, a reader who compiled the unofficial figures, said the queen and her husband attended about the same number of engagements as they had in 2005.
Last year Prince William carried out 13 engagements and Prince Harry attended six.
Prince Andrew, the Duke of York - who is a special trade representative for Britain - attended the most overseas engagements out of the royal family - a total of 234. He also carried out 212 royal duties in Britain - making a total of 446.
Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall - Charles' wife, who has previously criticised from avoiding royal duties - carried out 212 engagements last year.
While Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex, attended 418 official engagements and his wife Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, 235.
