Britain's Prince William is planning to whisk girlfriend Kate Middleton away to the Swiss Alps for New Year.
The romantic get-away has sparked further speculation that the prince is going to propose.
A source told Britain's Sun newspaper: "If he's planning to pop the question then he's kept it secret from Kate.
"But now he's a regular officer Wills will be free to see Kate far more often. It's the start of a new phase of their relationship."
The trip was also organised to celebrate Kate's 25th birthday on January 9.
The couple - who have been dating for four years - will fly out after both have celebrated Christmas with their respective families.
Kate turned down Queen Elizabeth's invite to join the British Royal Family for Christmas lunch at Sandringham estate.
The invitation was seen as yet another indication that the couple were playing to announce their engagement.
Kate will now spend the festive season in Scotland with her own family.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry will see in the New Year with his girlfriend Chelsy Davy, for the third year in a row.
The couple will stay spend ten days with her parents on the Indian Ocean island of Bazaruto, off the coast of Mozambique.
