Duchess' last tango
Nov 17, 2006, 13:30 GMT
Britain's Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, is desperate to compete on a celebrity dancing show.
The duchess revealed she is keen to appear on US television programme 'Dancing with the Stars' - which sees celebrities paired with professional dancers and compete against one-another - because she needs to brush up on her dance steps.
She said: "I'd quite like to go on 'Dancing with the Stars'. I'd like them to teach me to tango."
The 47-year-old royal - who has two children Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie with ex-husband Prince Andrew - revealed she developed a passion for the tango while on holiday in Buenos Aires in Argentina.
She added: "I did go to the oldest tango place and I did look at it and think 'I can try this.'"
Meanwhile, the duchess has also confessed she is not happy that Black Eyed Peas singer Stacy Ferguson has stolen her nickname 'Fergie' and called her debut album 'The Dutchess'.
She said: "She's very much played off me. I'd have thought a call would have been nice. So do I ring up and get agitated? Or do I ring up and say, 'Hi Fergie. It's Fergie. Now that I have helped you, I need you to help me with charity concerts in London and New York.'"
