Fergie's Hollywood movie
Oct 20, 2006, 16:21 GMT
Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, is set to produce a Hollywood movie about Britain's Queen Victoria.
Sarah - the ex-wife of Prince Andrew - pitched her idea to film executive Graham King, who immediately agreed to take part in the project.
King - who has produced director Martin Scorsese's last three films, 'Gangs Of New York', 'The Aviator' and 'The Departed' - says the movie will paint a yet unseen picture of the 19th century monarch.
King told Britain's The Daily Mail newspaper: "Sarah pitched the idea to me. She was passionate about the friendship, courtship and then marriage of Victoria and Albert.
"When people think of Victoria, they picture this austere figure who always wore black. The film will be about when she was young and full of the joys of young love. It will be very respectful but fun."
King added that he is planning on using an all-British cast.
He said: "Victoria has to be played by a young British actress. She'll be the best we can find. It's daft casting in America - it wouldn't be right."
Filming is expected to begin next year, once a director has been found to helm the project. It is hoped Scorsese will agree to be a consultant on the movie.
