Britain's Prince Charles has been snubbed by the Royal Watercolour Society (RWS) after none of his artwork was included in their recent exhibition.
The prince is an honorary member of the RWS, however, the society failed to ask him to donate a piece before their autumn show opened at London's Bankside Gallery last week.
Former RWS president, Francis Bowyer, told Britain's Daily Telegraph newspaper: "Prince Charles has not donated a work and the society didn't get round to asking him in time for this year's exhibition."
Charles - also an honorary member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour - was asked to write the introduction to the RWS's latest book, 'Watercolour Masters - Then and Now', but none of his work is featured in the volume either.
In the new book the royal writes: "At a time when conceptual art appears at the forefront of media attention and artistic endeavour, sadly at the expense of drawing and painting, it is enormously refreshing to see skill and its practice combining to embrace and further this wonderful medium."
Charles' passion for watercolour painting began when he was a pupil at Gordonstoun School, in Scotland.
His work first went on display in 1977 as part of an exhibition at Windsor Castle.
