Britain's Prince Harry flew 6,000 miles to celebrate his girlfriend Chelsy Davy's 21st birthday.
Harry begged his commanding officers for leave so he could attend the £20,000 Roaring Twenties themed-bash in Cape Town on Friday (13.10.06).
The 22-year-old wore a customised t-shirt saying 'Official Bodyguard of Miss CD' and 'Hands off china!' - warning other men to stay away from his gorgeous girlfriend, who was dressed in a black and green flapper dress.
Harry, who is third-in-line to the British throne, also showed his commitment by passionately kissing Chelsy on the dancefloor - while her parents cheered them on.
During a speech by Chelsy's brother Shaun, the birthday girl's habit of making verbal gaffes was revealed.
Shaun, 20, said: "Last month she asked if woolly mammoths are extinct! She has had no fewer than four car crashes in a year. My sister is famous for her Chelsyisms, but that's why we love her."
Her close friend Ali also revealed to the 140 guests what made Harry fall for Zimbabwean-born Chelsy.
Ali said: "Your Ricky Gervais impersonations have got to stop. They're not funny to anyone but Harry - who says they were the first thing that attracted him to you."
Until now, the couple have endured a long-distance relationship - with Chelsy studying in Cape Town and Harry training to be an Army officer with the Household Cavalry in his home country.
However, Chelsy is planning on moving to Britain to be nearer to Harry, and she has accepted a place at Bristol University to study a postgraduate degree in politics.
