Troop Leader Harry
Oct 13, 2006, 14:09 GMT
Britain's Prince Harry has become an Armoured Reconnaissance Troop Leader after completing his latest round of army training.
The 22-year-old royal army officer has spent four-and-a-half months learning about Scimitar tanks and armoured tactics.
Harry will shortly return to the Household Cavalry Combermere barracks in Windsor to take command of 12 soldiers.
A Ministry of Defence spokesman said: "Harry will take command of a troop of soldiers and vehicles and undertake routine exercises, training and sport. That's the normal routine for life in barracks."
Harry, who is third-in-line to the throne, is keen to use his new skills on the frontline in Afghanistan or Iraq.
However, army officials are reportedly reluctant to send the prince into a war zone.
No decision has been made yet, but the Ministry of Defence admitted there could be situations where it would be too dangerous for Harry to serve.
