Britain's Prince William has enjoyed a night out at a bingo club.
The 24-year-old royal stunned regulars when he arrived at the Mecca Bingo hall, in Reading, with a group of 10 friends from near by Sandhurst Military Academy on Friday night (29.09.06).
William - who is currently in training at Sandhurst to be an army officer - registered as a club member under the name 'William Harry' and paid £5 for a book of five tickets.
A regular told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Initially he told someone he was a look-alike but his mates all started laughing so he had to own up.
"He was very friendly, talking and joking with people. When someone asked him to sign the back of their bingo card he borrowed a pen from the girl behind the bar and signed a couple of cards."
The group of army cadets decided to make a visit to the bingo hall after finishing a gruelling five-hour lecture on terrorism.
William's friends originally thought he would laugh at the suggestion, but an army source revealed he was more than game.
The source said: "None of the cadets thought William was seriously agreeing and they bet him he'd bottle out before they got there.
"But William went through with it. They thought it was hilarious and had a great time."
William - who failed to win any prizes - played the number game for an hour and then he and his pals went for drinks in a few local bars.
A Clarence House spokesman confirmed: "Prince William made a private visit to the bingo. He was on a fun night out with a small group of fellow Sandhurst cadets at the time."
