Scissor Sisters entertain royals

Britain's Prince Charles will be entertained by the Scissor Sisters at this year's Royal Variety Performance.The New York pop act - who are currently number one in both the UK singles and album charts - are in talks to perform for the prince and his wife Camilla at the celebrated live show.An insider for the concert told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Scissor Sisters have been in talks with us for a while about performing."We think they are just what the event needs to be lively and entertaining."The band's very keen, it's just a matter of seeing if they a can fit it in."The show will be held on December 4 in London's Coliseum theatre.Previous performers who have proved a hit with Charles have included the Spice Girls and Atomic Kitten.The first Royal Variety Performance was held in 1912 for King George V. He then agreed to attend a variety show of his country's talent once a year, and the tradition has carried on ever since.Queen Elizabeth used to attend the performance, but in recent years Prince Charles has represented the royal family.(C) BANG Media International
