Britain's Duchess of Cornwall has become a hospital patron.
Camilla - the wife of Prince Charles - is "delighted" to become the ambassador of The Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases, in Bath.
A Clarence House spokesman said: "The duchess is delighted to take the patronage. For a long time she has been closely involved with efforts to support people who are suffering from osteoporosis."
Camilla has a personal interest in osteoporosis, a brittle bone disease, as her mother and grandmother both suffered from the painful condition.
Hospital officials have welcomed their new patron and insist her involvement is a "great boost" to both patients and staff.
Chief executive Nicola Carmichael said: "We are delighted the Duchess of Cornwall has agreed to be our royal patron and support our hospital in this way.
"The conditions that we deal with at the RNHRD are often complex, affecting people in every aspect of their lives."
