Harry's sport car ban
Sep 7, 2006, 15:45 GMT
Britain's Prince Harry has been banned from buying a sports car.
The 21-year-old royal was desperate to snap up a brand new electric blue Lotus Elise car worth £30,000 but his father, Prince Charles, has forbidden it.
A source told Britain's Daily Star newspaper: "Harry fancied the idea of a sports car which can go really fast.
"He loves the singer Jay Kay and it was his enthusiasm about the Lotus Elise which prompted Harry to want one.
"But Charles and Camilla simply told him they didn't think it was a good idea, so he hasn't bought one. Charles wants Harry to have a sensible car."
However, Harry - who is third in line to the throne - hasn't given up all hopes of owning the luxury motor one day.
The source added: "He is quietly determined to get one eventually. Harry has always been fascinated with fast cars ever since he was a young lad. He loves watching motor-racing."
Harry, who has previously owned a Range Rover, Porsche and Ferrari, currently drives a black Audi A3.
