Britain's Prince and Princess Michael of Kent were given special treatment on a budget flight yesterday (31.08.06).
The royal couple were ushered on board the £205 easyJet return flight from Palma, Majorca, to London, before any other passengers and given seats in the front row.
Prince Michael, the cousin of Queen Elizabeth, was also allowed to break safety rules and hold on to his briefcase during take-off, rather than place it in the overhead rack.
One passenger told Britain's Daily Mail newspaper: "The princess sat by the window in dark glasses and the prince was in the aisle seat with his head buried in a large book called 'Royal Romances'."
The prince and princess - nicknamed 'Princess Pushy' - bought packaged sandwiches and shared a packet of chocolate Maltesers during the flight.
When they arrived in Britain the couple were personally escorted off the flight by Gatwick staff.
The pair hit the headlines earlier this month when they auctioned off the contents of their home, and managed to make over £8,000, despite the majority of the lots being household junk.
