Diana's blood samples 'corrupted'

Aug 29, 2006, 13:56 GMT

It has been claimed that blood samples taken during the post mortem of Britain's Princess Diana may have been tampered with.

Robert Thompson - the manager of a British mortuary where the body of the late princess was taken after her death - has spoken out, nine years after her tragic car crash, to expose the intervention of 'men in suits'.

Thompson claims in a sworn affidavit when the post mortem was carried out, just a few hours after the princess's death, the body gave off a strong smell of alcohol, but when blood samples were returned by the lab they reported no alcohol was present.

Thompson's statement reads: 'I find this unbelievable and it leads me to the conclusion that the blood sample had either been corrupted, or a false statement made.'

His affidavit, a legal document verifying the truthfulness of a statement, also states the number of uniformed and plain-clothes police officers present were at a level only seen 'in situations where the death is suspicious'.

Thompson details how 'officers' from various 'police protection groups' were given access to photograph the body and take samples from her corpse.

He also confirms previous claims that French authorities had partially and poorly embalmed Diana's body, an illegal procedure in France.
