Edward opens hall
Aug 25, 2006, 14:02 GMT
Britain's Prince Edward is to open a modernised community hall.
The prince, Queen Elizabeth's youngest son, will have the honour of unveiling a plaque at the grand re-opening of Moorland Hall in Wheddon Cross, Somerset, on September 15.
The community centre cost £340,000 to refurbish and serves 10,000 local residents. New facilities include broadband access, disabled access, a therapy surgery, and inbuilt audio system and small conference rooms. Before the ceremony, Edward will meet with local children from Cutcombe School. Chairman of the board of trustees, Eric Clarbull, told the Somerset County Gazette newspaper: 'We are delighted to be able to welcome Edward to Wheddon Cross. 'This project enables us to provide excellent facilities for the organisations and communities of the high moor. 'We are most grateful for all the support provided by many organisations and very proud to have Edward to perform the opening.'Copyright 2006 BANG Media International
