Beatrice's portrait shun
Aug 3, 2006, 15:03 GMT
Britain's Princess Beatrice has shunned her photographer father and opted to have a close friend shoot her coming-of-age portrait.
The royal, who turns 18 next Tuesday (08.08.06), wants her official photographs to be shot by Nikolai Bismarck, despite her father, Prince Andrew, being an accomplished lensman.
Beatrice - the daughter of Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson - was romantically linked with Nikolai after being introduced to him two years ago, but insists they are just good friends. Nikolai - related to Prussia's Iron Chancellor, Otto von Bismarck - reported offered to take the photographs as a birthday present and Beatrice was said to be happy to give her pal's fledgling career a boost. Sources close to the princess say the photographs will be 'formal but fun'. Her father, Andrew, published a book of black and white snaps in 1985 and has previously taken pictures of his mother, Queen Elizabeth, to mark her 60th birthday and Golden Jubilee. More recently his services were required to shot the first official photographs of brother Prince Edward's daughter, Lady Louise.Copyright 2006 BANG Media International
