William's proposal pressure
Jul 31, 2006, 13:02 GMT
Britain's Prince William has come under pressure from his family to propose to his girlfriend.
William's grandmother Queen Elizabeth and father Prince Charles have described Kate Middleton as 'just perfect' and are urging him to pop the question before it is too late. They are said to be concerned history might repeat itself and Kate will get fed up with waiting for the prince to propose and call time on their relationship, just as Camilla did with Charles 30 years ago. A Buckingham Palace insider revealed: 'There is a slight stalemate, largely because William is unsure over the timing. The royals can see Kate will be an asset and don't want Wills to let her slip through his fingers.' Kate is also said to be putting pressure on William - who she met at St Andrews University - to commit. The queen has shown her support for the brunette by inviting her to tea and to family functions. She has also been given her own bodyguards and a police radio.
