Prince William to stubborn to wed
Jul 24, 2006, 14:12 GMT
Britain's Prince William is too stubborn to propose to his long-term girlfriend, it has been claimed.
Buckingham Palace insiders reportedly fear the 24-year-old prince has no desire to ask Kate Middleton to marry him and are now concerned she may call time on their relationship.
Some senior aides are even said to be calling the 24-year-old brunette the 'next Camilla' in reference to Prince Charles' first love, whom he ditched in favour of the late Princess Diana. A source told Britain's The Mail On Sunday newspaper: 'There is a genuine concern that William is stubborn and doesn't want to be rail-roaded into anything. Marriage is just not on his agenda right now and he has made that very clear. 'He loves Kate and she is his first true love. The fear is that history will repeat itself and she could be the next Camilla.' Friends of William have said the prince feels to young to settle down, despite rumours that Kate was expecting him to get down on one knee during their recent Caribbean holiday. An insider said: 'She won't stay around forever and if William doesn't marry Kate, the reality is she could be damaging to the Monarchy. The Palace, particularly the old guard, believe it is in everyone's interest that they marry - and sooner rather than later.'Copyright 2006 BANG Media International
