Crown Prince of Norway turns 33

Oslo - King Harald of Norway was absent Thursday when members of the Norwegian royal family quietly celebrated Crown Prince Haakon's 33 birthday. The royals were gathered at the king and queen's summer home Magero on the west coast of the Oslo fjord. Present at the celebration were Queen Sonja, Crown Princess Mette- Marit, Princess Ingrid Alexandra, Prince Sverre Magnus and Mette- Marit's son Marius from a previous relationship. The king, who has spent a few days fishing salmon on the Alta River in northern Norway, was pursuing another favourite pastime - sailing in Mediterranean Sea. After their summer holiday, the crown prince and crown princess were in August slated to attend an international conference on HIV/Aids in Toronto, Canada. © 2006 dpa - Deutsche Presse-Agentur
