Norwegian king has good luck fishing salmon

Oslo - Norwegian King Harald has had good luck fishing in northern Norway during a fishing holiday, reports said Tuesday. The 69-year-old monarch has reportedly landed an 11-kilo salmon during a two-day fishing expedition on the isolated Alta River located above the Arctic Circle, local media reported. Ivar Leitan of the local group that has the fishing rights on the Alta River said the king has on earlier visits caught salmon of some 17 kilos. Last year, the king did not land any salmon. The king was now slated to continue his holiday enjoying another favourite pass-time - sailing in the Mediterranean. On August 8, he is due to open a trade fair on fishing in Trondheim. © 2006 dpa - Deutsche Presse-Agentur
