Princess Diana's commemoration plans
Jul 18, 2006, 13:19 GMT
The 10th anniversary of the death of Britain's Princess Diana will be marked with a tasteful and discreet service.
The late Princess Of Wales died tragically after her car crashed in a Paris tunnel on August 31, 1997.
Although the landmark anniversary is still over a year away, Buckingham Palace officials are said to have already started planning the commemorative event. A source was quoted on Royalist.com, as saying: 'The most important thing is that Diana's sons are happy about what occurs. It is likely the event will include some of the things Diana did in her life to show that her legacy lives on. There may be some sort of acknowledgement from the Queen about Diana. Nothing has been ruled out and nothing has been ruled in.' The insider also said the event will not be an 'extravaganza' and will be tastefully done. They added: 'It will be a sober mark of respect for a very great woman. We are going to take our time over this and we will get it right.' The news come after a week of scandals, caused by stories published about the late royal - affectionately referred to as the Queen of Hearts. Cameraman Sebastian Rich recently claimed in his autobiography he had a sex romp with Diana. The nation was also shocked, after an Italian magazine printed photographs of her dying, moments after the fatal car crash.Copyright 2006 BANG Media International
